Pilita Corrales and Tony Joaquin in a fifties medley

Dear friends, I am sure you remember the time I shared with you a video clip taken during the awarding ceremonies at Washington D.C.'s Convention Hall in 1999.

It was a Forex sponsored Pistahan sa Pasko show with a wonderful set of Filipino singers, dancers and acts in participation.

Highlight was of course Mama Sarah's being awarded the trophy for her contribution to Virginia by her skills in drama. Since she arrived in 1976 she had formed the very first drama groups (2) that featured Filipino professionals and bankers in the area. Mama Sarah also brought over a celebrated Filipino Diva by the name of Evelyn Mandac, soprano to paly the lead in ANG KIRI (The Flirt) all in the Tagalog Language.

Doing the awarding honors were Filipino community leaders led by Philippine to the U.S. The Honorable Ambassador Ernesto Maceda .

The happy video event is celebrating its 11th year this month.
